Week of February 17th to 21st!

Let's make our own puzzles! Draw, cut and put back together!

Yusuf is putting the puzzle pieces together!

Let's work together to solve the puzzle!

Élanur and Selen are busy drawing their sports puzzle!

Bowling time! Try to get a strike or spare. How many pins can you knock down?

Irmark is trying here best to knock all the pins down and get a strike!

Let's play a risk taking game. Be careful not to knock down the Jenga tower! The students worked together in groups to build their towers and slowly removed the pieces one by one. They took turns and worked together to make sure it didn't fall down!

Build the Jenga and carefully remove each peıce!

We also read a story called Froggy Plays Soccer  which can be found in the One More Story library collection. We reviewed the action verbs within the story

This weeks homework: Reread Froggy plays Soccer storybook from The One more Story online library collection.  If you do not have the user name and password it is just :Coskun (for both user name and password).

Carnival game day was a great success!

Bobbing for apples a game where the children must use only their mouths to retrieve an apple from a bucket full of water!)

Bobbıng for apples! Do not use your hand or arms.. only your teeth!

We also played pin the tail on the donkey (a game where the children are blindfolded and have to listen to directions to put the tail right on the tail target)

You can do ıt Affon! You are very close to hıttıng the target!

Muazzez.. turn the other way!

Song and Story Links:

Dream English: What can you do? Action Verbs continuation

Fitness Songs for Kids- Cool Sports link:

I introduced the concept of same and different.  We played a matching game on the smart board to match certain images together or to identify them as different. The students were engaged and enjoyed being able to say if the pictures were the same or different.

Here are the links to the same and different song: There are two songs... See if you can do it together!

I have also started to get the students to practice request for permission such as...
Water: May I please get drink some water?
Toilet: May I please go to the bathroom (or use the toilet)?
This helps to expand their vocabulary and start to develop sentences in English.

I will frequently pose on the blog page photos of our activities, videos and songs shown within class so you can watch and listen at home!

Take care and have a great weekend :)
